Fees
You pay us a fee that we agree in writing before we start. If an insurer pays us a commission, we show you the amount before you sign.
What you pay
By stage of the work.
| Stage | What happens | What you pay |
|---|---|---|
| First meeting | About an hour. You tell us what you need. We explain how we work and what it would cost. We recommend nothing. | Nothing. |
| Financial plan | We analyse your finances and give you a written plan with our recommendations and the alternatives we considered. | A fixed fee, quoted and agreed in writing before we start. |
| Putting it in place | We open accounts, arrange policies and work with your lawyer and accountant. | Commission from insurers on policies we arrange, shown to you before you sign. Fund and platform costs, shown in writing. |
| Ongoing advice | A full review at least once a year, one statement for everything you hold, and direct access to your adviser. | A yearly percentage of the assets we advise on, quoted and agreed in writing, billed quarterly. |
What you never pay
- A fee for the first meeting.
- Commission, rebates or trail fees we have not shown you in writing.
- A penalty for leaving us. Your accounts and policies stay in your name.
Commission
Commission gives any adviser a reason to sell. We deal with it in the open.
- Every recommendation starts from a written analysis of what you need.
- We compare policies from several insurers.
- We show you the commission on each option before you choose.
Questions
- Do I have to move my investments to you?
No. We do not hold client money or investments. If moving an account would lower your costs or your risk, we show you the numbers and you decide.
- Is the first meeting free?
Yes. It takes about an hour, and you owe us nothing afterwards.
- How often will we meet?
At least once a year for a full review, and whenever something changes: a new job, a move, a birth, a sale.
- What if I am unhappy with the advice?
Tell your adviser first. If that does not settle it, our complaints process and the independent dispute body, FIDReC, are described in our disclosures.
